31 Days of Halloween { guest author & giveaway } Veronica Wolff, author of Isle of Night

Today we are joined by Veronica Wolff, author of Isle of Night, the first in a brand-new Young Adult series. (You can view the book trailer here.) After reading her post, be sure to enter to win a copy!

Dear Reader,

What would you do if you hit rock bottom? If you couldn’t go home, you had no money to strike out on your own, and no safety net to catch you.

That was precisely the situation my heroine, Annelise Drew, faced. Seventeen and whip-smart, she’d thought she graduated early from high school and was off to college. But all wasn’t what she thought. Before she knew it, her college registration had fallen through and she was stuck in a broken down car in the middle of a Florida parking lot, with no money to fall back on, no loving family to catch her, and no place to go.

Enter Ronan. With his sexy accent and haunted green eyes, Annelise finds herself accepting a ride. Too late she discovers that the old adage is right—a girl shouldn’t take rides from strangers.

Ronan takes her to the Isle of Night, a bleak, gray place in the middle of the North Sea where an ancient coven of vampires recruits girls to become Watchers—an elite group working as agents, ambassadors, and sometimes assassins for the vampires. Training is fierce, but Annelise works hard to fit in. Because on the Isle of Night, failure means death.

Who are these vampires? And, perhaps worse, who are these other girls who are now her competition? Annelise needs to rely on her wits and strength to survive. I hope you decide to join her on the journey and give Isle of Night a try!

Best,

Veronica Wolff
