Review
I really liked this book, in fact I liked it so much I read it all in one sitting. The way the author writes is very simple to follow and very engaging. You learn about the characters through, not just their interaction with each other, but with their interactions with their enemies and friends. The H/H are not in their own universe and are dependent on everyone around them though they don’t have to be.
Jag: where to start with this hero… He is the one everyone loves to hate. Though he has a protective streak a mile long, and when no one is looking exhibits signs of a very sweet man under all that abrasiveness. He is battling his own demons (other than the Daemons that they are all battling) and really it takes one to know one.
Olivia: because of a tragedy at the age of seven which left her different in a not so good way she has learned to be careful, and not let anyone in. She is strong but she also learned a long time ago to forgive herself. This makes it easy for her to see through Jag’s defenses.
The plot: the Ferals, Olivia and her guards are battling Daemons, and Mages who are trying to release the greatest evil ever that will enslave the earth. There is lots of fight scenes and good sex.
A word of caution, Pamela does not do any recounting of past stories she just picks up where she left off from the other books so you must read the books in order.
