As part of the Graphic Novels Challenge 2010, I’ve decided to host a mini challenge from 01 January — 31 January 2010 right here on Read All Over.
We all know that the classics are not for everyone. They can be rather daunting and downright tedious at times to read, however, missing out on the wonderful stories they contain is such a shame. So, I thought what better way to spread the classics love than to read them in graphic novel form! That is my challenge to you all: read at least one classic novels in graphic form within the month of January 2010.
To help you out, here’s some great lists to give you some ideas of what to read: The Book Palace, Harris County Public Library, The Complete Guide to Classics Illustrated, and Barnes & Noble.
I’ll be reading Crime and Punishment and Beowulf, so I hope you’ll join me :)
Rules/Guidelines:
- Sign up below.
- Plan on reading at least one classics graphic novels in the month of January, but you are free to read more than that.
- Only books started in January will count.
- Novels may be on any reading level, but I think you’ll find most are counted as YA by libraries and such.
- Have fun!!
To join this challenge, just leave your link on the Mr. Linky below! If you don’t have a blog, you can use the comments to sign up :) Feel free to save the challenge banner to your own server to promote the challenge on your own blog.

What a great idea for a mini-challenge! Think I’ll be starting with On the Origin of Species. And hopefully fit in Dracula, too.

Just barely made this mini-challenge! I’ve had my eye on quite a few graphic novel adaptations of the classics, but I finally decided on Fahrenheit 451. Thanks for hosting this!

I saw this late in the month and wasn’t sure I could fit a graphic classic in, but I made it by the skin of my teeth on the last day of January!
