Scheduled Downtime Tomorrow for SOPA Protest

This is just a quick note to say that I will be blacking out Read All Over Reviews tomorrow from 8AM EST to 8PM EST in support of Strike Against SOPA. I apologize for any inconvenience but this is a cause I firmly believe in.

Thanks!

My first post went live today so I’d like to invite you all to check it out (and do stick around The Discriminating Fangirl, as there are lots of awesome posts to be read there!).

October is Northanger Abbey Month at IndieJane!

Over at IndieJane.org, the girls are hosting a month long group read and discussion of Austen’s Northanger Abbey. Northanger has never been my favorite Austen novel but it’s growing on me (thanks to the 2007 BBC film) so I think I’ll join in on the reading, if not the discussion. Why not add a little light Gothic-ness to my horror saturated Halloween reading for the month? ;)

Want to be a character in H.P. Mallory’s next book?

I recently received an email from H.P. and this is too fun not to pass along –

“I’m hosting a pretty fun contest from now until Oct 31. The winner of the contest will win a part in my next book, Toil and Trouble (the follow up book to Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble). That means I’m actually going to create a character based on the person who wins (their name, description, personality, etc).

The contest parameters can be found on my blog.”

I’m very tempted to enter myself ;)
