Walking with the Green Man by Dr. Bob Curran

Walking with the Green Man: Father of the Forest, Spirit of Nature by Dr. Bob Curran. © 2007 New Page Books. ISBN 1-56414-931-5. Paperback. 221 pages. $14.99 US. [ Purchase ]

From heroic archetypes such as Robin Hood to Demigods, such as Herne the Hunter, from the King of the Woods to the Jack in the Green, Walking With the Green Man examines the interconnectedness of Man and Nature throughout history.

I found this to be an absorbing book, rich in detail and study and charming with its gorgeous drawings of various Green Man aspects. This is a fantastic source of the mythology of the Lord of the Greenwood.

Natural Witchery by Ellen Dugan

Natural Witchery: Intuitive, Personal and Practical Magick by Ellen Dugan. © 2007 Llewellyn Publications. ISBN 978-0-7387-0922-2. Paperback. 262 pages. $16.95 US. [ Purchase ]

Sick of hearing about who was born to what witch, and what degree Sally down the road has? Then perhaps you have the calling of the natural witch. A natural witch is simply someone who lives in harmony with the natural forces around them and attunes to them. It’s a simple path, not so much concerned with tools and attire, as with trees and the green world that surrounds us all.

In Natural Witchery, Ellen brings the simplicity of native magick straight to us. We are taught how to develop our own innate intuition, practice lunar magick, strengthen our personal power and magickal development, how to start a circle, living the life of a natural witch, bringing your witchery to work, advancing our spirituality and she includes a wonderfully, concise but loaded Book of Witchery to top if all off.

This is a stunningly beautiful book and I believe this to be the best book Ellen has written thus far and something I will continue to refer to for many years to come.

They also allow you to create your own yoga routine depending on how advanced you are or have become. This makes an excellent companion to Gertrud’s other book on mudras (Mudras: Yoga in Your Hands).

Synopsis
Ireland: land of rambles, burning peat, dark beer, misdirection, lilting speech, enchanting melodies, green hills, ruddy faces, and goddesses. Goddesses? In Ireland? Like many Irish Americans before her, Pat Monaghan traveled to Ireland for the first time as an adult, seeking her roots. What she found was much more than her physical ancestors. She found spiritual forebears in the legends and landmarks of spirited women: witches, hags, wanton girls, mothers. This book is the story of her journeys, and the story of the journeys the legends have made through time. Read more
